AS I LAY DYING: Canadian Dates Announced

February 18, 2008

San Diego-based metallers AS I LAY DYING will embark on a Canadian headlining tour with support from MISERY SIGNALS, AUGUST BURNS RED and EVERGREEN TERRACE.

Commented guitarist Phil Sgrosso: "We are very excited to be doing a national tour in Canada this spring. We haven't hit a lot of those markets since Taste of Chaos back in 2006. Along with the other bands on the tour, it should be a very energetic show every night. The last time we did a club headline tour in Canada was in the spring of 2005 with THROWDOWN, ALL THAT REMAINS, and WINTER SOLSTICE. It's been a long time. Our shows will definitely be a lot more intimate than what we did on the more festival-style shows. Moshing, crowd surfing, stage diving. I'm sure that will all be taking place more frequently on this tour!"

The dates are as follows:

Apr. 29 - Vancouver, BC - Croation Cultural Center
Apr. 30 - Kelowna, BC - The Habitat
May 01 - Calgary, AB - MacEwan Ballroom
May 03 - Edmonton, AB - Starlite
May 04 - Regina, SK - Distrikt
May 05 - Winnipeg, MB - The Garrick
May 13 - London, ON - The Embassy
May 14 - Toronto, ON - The Phoenix Theatre
May 15 - Ottawa, ON - Babylon
May 16 - Montreal, QC - Le National
May 17 - Quebec City, QC - Anti Sk8 Parc

A four-minute backstage interview with AS I LAY DYING conducted by Altitude's metal show "Metalogy" can be viewed below. The band discusses the trials of working with Adam Dutkiewicz from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE on their new record, their biggest pet peeves, their last meal, and why they hate "I Love New York" so much, among other topics.

AS I LAY DYING received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category for "Nothing Left", the first single from the band's newest release, "An Ocean Between Us".

AS I LAY DYING recently completed a video for the band’s new track "The Sound Of Truth". The clip, a sequel to the story in the video for "Nothing Left", was filmed in Los Angeles while the band was between tours. It was directed by Brian Thompson.
